When Christmas and birthdays roll around, we like to give gifts to our friends in the equestrian world, and rather than give some random item of horse equipment, consider that horse earrings make a great gift for your female riding buddies. If you give her horse stud earrings, she can even wear them while riding!
Most people have sensitive ears, so make sure you’re giving gold horse earrings or sterling silver ones. These are less likely to irritate the piercing holes, especially 14K horse earrings.
Rearing horses, galloping horses and all kinds of horse postures make for great earrings. I particularly like the galloping horse when used on a dangle earring, and I put them in so that the horses are galloping away from my head. Another one of my favorite earrings is a horse head that has crystals for the eyes. I like them because they seem so life-like. The artist that sculpted these clearly loves horses. I treasure these earrings also because they were given to me by my daughter!
For the younger crowd, it’s possible to find cartoon-ish looking horses on earrings, and young girls like these a lot. Sometimes they come as metal cut-outs in all kinds of fun colors so they can color-coordinate their earrings with their clothing.
Horseshoes make great earrings too, and I have seen some diamond-crusted ones that looked really classy. Just be careful, as some of these can look a little tacky. Understated elegance is always best.
I saw some earrings recently that showed a silver horse head and neck, and the flowing mane and forelock were of gold. I liked those a lot! If the person you’re buying earrings for has a particular breed of horse, sometimes it’s possible to find earrings that display and celebrate that breed. Arabian horse earrings for example, are extremely popular.
Have fun shopping for your horse jewelry gifts, and remember to buy something special for yourself too! After all, aren’t we supposed to love ourselves first before we can love others?
